Care Guide

Well-made clothing lasts as long as the care it is given. These are the practices we use ourselves.

Cotton

Wash cold on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibre and dulls it over time. Line dry in shade; tumble drying shortens the life of the fabric more than any other single habit.

Wool

Air between wears rather than washing. Most marks lift with a damp cloth. When a wash is needed, hand wash cold with wool detergent, press water out without wringing, and dry flat on a towel away from direct heat.

Linen

Machine wash cold, dry until just damp, then hang. Linen presses best while still holding a little moisture. Creasing is characteristic of the fibre, not a fault.

Storage

Fold knitwear; never hang it. Store wool clean — moths are drawn to body oils, not the wool itself. Cedar or lavender in a closed drawer works; mothballs are unnecessary.

Repairs

Small holes, seams and buttons are worth fixing early. If you would rather we handled it, get in touch — we repair pieces from any season at cost.
