About
Quiet Atelier began with a simple frustration: too many clothes, too little worth keeping. We make a small number of pieces, in small runs, from materials that improve rather than deteriorate with wear.
How we work
Every style starts as a single sample and stays in development until it earns a place in the collection. Nothing is released to hit a seasonal calendar. When a fabric mill cannot meet our standard, the piece waits.
Materials
We work with long-staple cotton, undyed and low-impact dyed wool, and European linen. Trims, buttons and thread are specified individually so a garment can be repaired rather than replaced.
Making
Production is split between two family-run workshops in Portugal and Italy. Both are audited annually for working conditions and paid on delivery, not on 90-day terms.
What we do not do
- No seasonal markdowns. Our prices reflect the cost of making the piece properly.
- No overproduction. Runs are sized to expected demand, and archive stock is offered before it is discounted.
- No synthetic filler in natural-fibre garments.
If you have a question about a specific piece, its fabric or its origin, write to us — we answer every message ourselves.
